For Season 2 of Damages, FX wanted to move away from creating a Flash-based microsite and focus on streamlining their shows’ online presence with a template that could fully take advantage of their now-successful ad network. Like other FX sites, The Damages show experience features bios of the cast and crew, offered free downloads and gave short replays of past episodes, only now advertising opportunities have become more prominent—which has helped them become more successful throughout the various programs. This has not only helped FX’ ability to utilize their microsites to generate ad revenue, but also gives advertisers more robust and effective opportunities.
